Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing

This is an exciting time for the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. By launching new academic programs and forging clinical collaborations, the school is preparing nursing students for leadership roles in health care through innovative simulations, community care experiences, international service opportunities, and research projects.

Three days after passing her National Council Licensure Examination, nursing student Emily Headrick 13N 14MN traveled 9,000 miles away to Ranomafana, Madagascar. She spent nearly a year collaborating with an infectious disease team of students and faculty. “You don’t always have solutions for everyone,” said Headrick, “but developing your bedside manner to form meaningful relationships that empower your patients is just as important in Madagascar as it is in downtown Atlanta.”

When it comes to nursing education, the School of Nursing’s mission is to give students like Emily the ability to transform health and healing in her community and throughout the world. This noble goal can be achieved only with the generous support of leadership-level annual donors.

Please consider becoming part of the Wise Heart Society with a contribution to Emory’s nursing school today. Ongoing leadership-level annual gifts reflect your commitment to the future of patient care, clinical discovery, and human health.
